Experience is the best teacher... 
Here's number 1 Fish pond. Landscapers did this pond, and is different from the other two. At the time this picture was taken, this pond contained gold fish and waterlilies, other pond greenery.
The picture below was taken March 28, 2003 and you can tell some changes in the pond. We moved the fish to the bigger pool, also the greenery. Will add some more things in this pool later.

This is what we call the deck pond. You can see it from the decks. Has a waterfall of sorts, 26 goldfish, three waterlilies,and various other water plants. The first picture has the old cover over the above pond. An ice storm took care of that cover during this winter 00-01. The second picture is how it looks now after we put a new top over it, I like this one much better. Summer of 2001.
This little ready made kidney shaped pond or pool is set down in a raised bed. There are flower around it and as you can seein this picture there is a fountain going. We now have a frog sitting on the edge spouting a stream of water from its mouth, picture below. I believe that takes care of all our pond and pools for now.. Oh! we do have several birdbaths sitting around in the yards..... 
 Are these beauties or not? For fish bait goldfish, I would say they are beauties and some of them are getting pretty old. I don't know the life span of goldfish but some of these have been around since we built this pond in the summer of 1994. I love to watch them grow and how they come running, ok, swimming toward me wherever I am around that pond. Suppose they want to be fed every time. But I only feed them one time a day, most times every other day. They are a joy to watch and play with. They don't bark and mess up my yard, just swim in that pond quitely. My kind of pets. Sorry, dog lovers. I really don't want to get any mail from your dogs. Because I like them too, just don't want any at this stage of my life. Cats we have and will show some pictures on Pet Page
